Redeeming Ventures was created around that idea. It is an investment co-operative, owned by its members, registered in Kenya as Redeeming Ventures Investment Co-operative Society Limited.

What we are not
Redeeming is not primarily a lending institution. It does not sell financial products. It invests on behalf of its members.
How the co-operative operates
Ownership
Members hold share capital. One member has one vote at the General Meeting, whatever the size of their holding.
Decisions
The Management Committee is elected by members. Investment decisions follow the society's rules and are reported back to members.
Capital
Capital comes from registration, share capital and monthly contributions. It is held and invested as one pool.
Reporting
Accounts are prepared annually and presented to members. Governance documents are published in the document library.
